Strimmers A Strimmer is a powered handheld device used for cutting grass and plants using a flexible monofilament line. Most strimmers consist of a cutting head at the end of a long shaft with a handle complete with controls at the top. Those strimmers that are petrol powered often feature a shoulder strap and an engine situated at the top, whilst electric strimmers have an electric motor situated in the cutting head. Electric strimmers have the advantage of being light and easy to operate and manoeuvre however they are restricted in their mobility by their dependence on a power cord. Petrol strimmers whilst heavier and less manoeuvrable provide a lot more power and mobility. |
